Job specification

1. Excavate existing area down to solid substrate - usually 200-400mm. This can vary so much due to the relevant underground conditions and obstacles. i.e. Underground services (gas main, water main, sewer/drainage pipes, etc.).

2. Repair and /or install any underground drainage systems, as required.

3. Supply and lay hard-core to a depth of 100mm below finished levels and compact to form solid sub-base. The thickness of the hard-core will vary in accordance with the depth of the excavation.

4. Supply and fix recessed block paved manhole covers, as required.

5. Supply and fix Godfrey Geotextile membrane to entire area. This effectively prevents sub-base separation and therefore rutting.

6. Supply and lay screeded GGBS laying course to falls, as required.

7. Supply and lay chosen pavior.

8. Supply and fix edge restraints, as required, and haunch with 4/1/1 fine concrete mix.

9. Cut in edging pieces with diamond saw and compact. (Probably the most important skill of the contract).

10. Insert inlaid motif pattern (if required). Please ask for our portfolio, for examples.

11. Brush in kiln-dried sand and compact. (This process effectively locks all the blocks in position.

12. Powerbrush and clear site.
